Salle d'Etroit is a full serice fencing academy serving Metro Detroit and the South East Michigan area. We offer all levels of fencing classes as well private fencing instruction. Our 4200 square feet of raised floor holds up to six electric strips and space for one on one lessons. We have an onsite pro-shop for your basic equipment needs. Our US Fencing Association sanctioned club, the Underground Fencing Organization, hosts several tournements throughout the year. These are open for anyone to come and watch.

Benjamin Schleis

Ben has been coaching fencing for nearly five years, getting his start at Michigan Technological University. Ben teaches the Beginning and Youth Competitive Fencing classes at Salle d'Etroit. Ben is an accomplished fencer in all three weapons. Ben regularly fences at the National Level.
Jon Zelkowski

Jon has been coaching over 25 years. He fenced and coached at Wayne State University, and various other clubs in the state of Michigan. He currently coaches at SdE Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Rebecca Keeling

Becky has been coaching youth fencing for over 2 years. She works well with the younger kids, teaching them the basics of the sport in lessons they can understand. She coaches Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Wojtek Dudek

Wojtek was the assistant coach at Wayne State unitversity. He currently coaches at SdE on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Jim Vesper

Jim is the head coach for the University of Michgan fencing club. He's taught sabre classes for SdE. Currently he coaches on Sundays.
